Compare the practical parts of the trip before you book.
Some days should be slow and full of short detours. Others can cover four hundred kilometres or more because the change of region is the point. These guides account for fatigue, daylight, borders and arrival time without pretending that driving itself is wasted time.
Road condition, mountain weather, fuel, parking, border friction and an inconvenient hotel rhythm can decide whether a route works. The photographs may explain why you want to go; the practical detail should prevent the journey from becoming needlessly stupid.
Take the daily destinations, route logic and useful alternatives. Change the stops, skip the famous place or spend longer on the road when the detour earns it. A route should create freedom, not turn the car into a timetable.
