Stay in or just outside the centre if the music programme matters most. Kino Šiška is roughly three kilometres from the old centre, while many later showcases sit closer to the city core. A room chosen only for postcard proximity can still create unnecessary midnight crossings.
Arrive on Wednesday afternoon rather than treating the opening night as a disposable warm-up. Leave Sunday, after the Saturday closing programme, and keep one daylight block for Metelkova, the river and the less ceremonial parts of the centre.
This is a multi-venue festival. The programme can look geographically compact until two desired sets land on opposite sides of the city. Build each evening around one or two anchors and accept that discovery includes missing something.
