Tallinn Music Week spreads concerts, talks and city events across established venues and changing districts. It gives a useful reason to move between Telliskivi, the centre and the northern waterfront instead of treating the old town as the entire city.
Plan this trip
Compare the practical parts of a trip to Tallinn, Estonia.
The old town is convenient but not automatically the best base. Telliskivi, Kalamaja and the station side reduce friction when the programme leans north and west. Check the final venue map before paying a premium for a room inside the walls.
Use Wednesday as the arrival day. The music programme runs Thursday to Saturday, while the wider city festival continues into Sunday. That final day is valuable because Tallinn feels substantially different once the delegate badges and wristbands thin out.
April can still be cold, wet and hostile to optimistic footwear. Venue capacity also matters: a festival pass gives access to the programme, not a guarantee that every small room will still admit you five minutes before a hyped set.
